Darien
Church of Christ is a small congregation with a big heart.
When you walk in the front door, expect a friendly welcome. You
will be greeted warmly by people who love for visitors to come our
way.
Before the service begins, members and guest will be talking and
visiting with one another. We will begin our service with
singing songs of praise. We will have prayer, share in the
Lord's Supper, take a collection, listen to scripture reading, and
hear a lesson from the Bible. After service is over, some
announcements will be made about upcoming events and various
needs in our area.
We use only vocal singing
(not instrumental accompaniment). You might be surprised to hear no
instruments, only voices. It won't take long for you to realize
it's a wonderful way to sing and that we (you included) can make
beautiful music together for the Lord's praise and our
encouragement.
The Lord's Supper will be passed throughout the congregation
for all Christians to share. The bread reminds us of Christ's
body, The cup of grape
juice reminds us of Christ's blood, which he spilled when he died on
the cross for our sins.
Each Lord's day we also give back to the Lord as He has prospered us.
This should be done out of love and not because we are obligated to
do so. Remember that God loves a cheerful giver.
During the Bible lesson or sermon, you will notice that the
Bible is the subject. Bring your Bible with you and you will leave
having learned something and knowing this wonderful book a little
better.
Prayers will be led by selected men during our worship.
You don't need to be concerned about knowing what to do, when to
stand up, sit down, or what to say. Nothing will happen that will
make you feel uncomfortable or conspicuous. There will be no
puzzling rituals or unnatural behaviors. Just come in, sit down,
relax and enjoy a meaningful spiritual experience.
At Darien, we want you to feel like our welcomed guest. Come
join us as we worship God together.
